  • Coordinating academic calendars[cite: 14].

Quality Assurance & Regulations
  • Ensuring that the curriculum is accredited with regulatory authorities[cite: 16, 17].
  • Developing, implementing, and enforcing academic regulations and policies[cite: 18, 19].
  • Advising students and staff on academic procedures[cite: 20].
Academic Records & Governance
  • Maintaining transcripts, academic histories, grades, and degree progress[cite: 21, 22, 23].

  • Preparing statistical and academic reports for university management, Council, and government agencies[cite: 25, 26].
  • Management of Council and Committee meetings[cite: 27].

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Educational Leadership, or related Business field[cite: 33].
  • 2–5 years of progressive experience in registrar functions or academic administration[cite: 34].
  • Deep understanding of the Higher Education Authority Act and higher education compliance[cite: 39, 40].
  • Human Resource qualification is an added advantage[cite: 36].

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy & Planning [cite: 47]
  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with goals[cite: 48].
  • Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning[cite: 49].
  • Advise executive leadership on resource allocation[cite: 50].
Financial Management & Operations [cite: 51]
  • Oversee accounting, auditing, procurement, payroll, and treasury operations[cite: 52].
  • Ensure absolute accuracy and integrity in all financial statements[cite: 53, 54].
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, investments, and financial risks[cite: 55].
Compliance & Policy Development
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal/external audits[cite: 56, 57, 59].
  • Present periodic financial reports to the university council, regulatory bodies, and donors[cite: 60].
  • Spearheads policy development and primary point of contact for policy interpretation[cite: 61, 62].
Resource Mobilisation & Team Leadership

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration[cite: 73].
  • Professional certification (ZICA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent) is essential[cite: 74].
  • 3-5 years senior-level financial management experience, preferably in higher education[cite: 75, 76].
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, public finance laws, and university funding models[cite: 77].

Competencies:
